Nueva Segovia: March 22, 1986. Installed Archbishop of
Nueva Segovia: July 1, 1986. Appointed Archbishop of
Cotabato: May 30, 1998. Installed Archbishop of Cotabato:
September 8, 1998. Elected President of the Catholic Bishops’ Conference
of the Philippines (CBCP) for two terms, 1999-2003. Served as
Secretary General of Federation of Asian Bishops’ Conferences in 2005-
2011. Elevated to Cardinal: February 22, 2014.
