Our Father in heaven,
holy be your name,
your kingdom, come,
your will, be done on earth, as in heaven.
Give us today, our daily bread.
Forgive us our debts,
as we forgive those who are in debt to us.
Do not bring us to the test,
but deliver us from the evil one.
If you forgive others their wrongdoings, your Father in heaven will also forgive yours.
If you do not forgive others, then your Father will not forgive you.

REFLECTION:
"If you forgive others their wrongdoings, your Father in heaven will also forgive yours.”
For those who are deeply hurt, this is a very difficult thing to do. How do we pardon those who massacred people or committed genocide?
How do we excuse those people who killed innocent lives? Even in our own experiences, it is not easy to forgive someone
who in many ways had caused us troubles and sufferings.
Jesus’ invitation for us seems to be very ideal. However, loo­king at the example of Jesus, it is not.
He even offered Himself on the cross to obtain forgiveness for our sins. God who loved us so much embraces our sufferings so that we may be saved.
Jesus shows us the way to the Father and He is inviting us to be part of that forgiving relationship.
In a world scourged by pain and suffering, our faith tells us that there is hope; and it starts with forgiveness.
If we can just be as forgiving as God, hatred will not flourish.
